Palau de Congressos - Description

The Palma Town Council and the Government of the Balearic Islands have been working together to launch an ambitious project: the construction of a convention centre in Palma de Mallorca.

The tender was awarded to architect Francisco Mangado, from Navarra, whose idea matched the physiognomy of this Mediterranean city and the building's location on Palma's seafront perfectly well.

The new convention centre will place Palma on the map of the world's leading business destinations, as its facilities have been conceived to meet MICE travellers' needs.

Moreover, the convention centre will give a boost to the city, creating a positive interaction between the two of them while activating the modernisation of the services provided to both residents and citizens. City travel has been growing steadily, and Palma, a Mediterranean city par excellence, wants to transform itself to become a top city break destination.

The new convention centre will attract high-end tourists who will not arrive in town only in the summer; in other words, it will foster off-season tourism and the chance to combine business trips with leisure, sports, shopping, and culture.

Furthermore, since the project is being developed by architect Francisco Mangado, it is bound to be one of the iconic buildings in the Mediterranean region, an architectural reference and a city highlight not to be missed by out-of-towners.
